5 Ways to Get Back on Your Feet

May 5, 2020 by Charles Leave a Comment

We are all human so we all make mistakes. Failure is a part of life. Despite knowing that failure is a universal experience, you may still find it difficult to pick yourself up by your bootstraps and carry on. You might feel you’ve gone down the wrong path and there’s no way back, especially if you’ve gotten yourself into trouble. While public records, background checks, and arrest records are available online and a mugshot lookup is just a quick search away, you can clean up your history and start moving forward. The process will take time but it is never too late to get back on your feet.

Allow Yourself to Feel

img

Failure is painful, humiliating, and just plain awful. So allow yourself to feel all of those feelings you have about it. Cry it out. Get upset. Let your emotions out. Write in a journal. Instead of ignoring or dismissing the issue, confronting it head on will help you to move forward and eventually past the failure.

Find a Support System

img

You’re going to need a lot of support to build yourself back up and heal. So talk it out with friends and family to help you release your emotions and let go of the past failure. And that support system isn’t just good for a shoulder to cry on. Spending time with your friends or relatives can also help to keep you busy and give you the support you need to get back on your feet. And research suggests having a network of support helps you to build resilience to overcome stress and painful experiences.

Take Care of Yourself

img

While you might get obsessed with starting your next project, don’t forget about your own needs. Indulge in self-care, get at least seven to eight hours of sleep each night, and eat a healthy, balanced diet filled with fruits and vegetables. Don’t skimp on your health care either. The Affordable Care Act has made having health insurance mandatory for every American. But if you’ve lost your job or don’t feel you are financially stable enough to afford health care coverage, you can sign up for a health insurance plan through medishare providers. Medishare insurance plans are part of the Christian Care Ministry and meant to be a more affordable option than normal health insurance. Through the program, members pay into a pool of money each month. When a Medi-Share member needs assistance with medical expenses, they then dip into that pool of resources. This kind of insurance program will not only help you with your medical bills, but make you feel like you are part of a community.

Exercise Regularly

img

Exercise releases endorphins, the chemicals in your body that trigger happiness. By exercising regularly you will reduce the amount of stress you may be experiencing during this rough patch, increase your energy levels, and boost your mood. Try exercising in the morning to help raise your energy and lift your mood in order to take on the rest of the day.

Find a New Project

img

Get back out and there and throw yourself into your work! We all experience failure from time to time. But when you fall down (even if it’s flat on your face), getting back up and trying again is the best way to show that failure who’s boss. You don’t need a huge project to take on to feel motivated. It could be a side hustle gig or that idea that’s been rattling around in your brain forever that you finally have the time to take on. Having a project that inspires you and gets your creative juices flowing again will help remind you why your efforts are always worth it.

Does Vaping Put Users at a Risk of Cancer

April 17, 2020 by Charles Leave a Comment

The number of adult vapers in the world is increasing by the day. Frankly, people are attracted to vaping because it has been promoted as a safer alternative to tobacco smoking, it has different aromas to choose from, and the habit looks cool. Vaping undoubtedly has more benefits than smoking, but medical experts have cautioned that users are not completely safe.

According to previous studies, vapor contains harmful chemicals, especially the ones that contain nicotine. However, people are concerned to know the extent of health hazards they are exposed to when they vape regularly. They want to know if they can get cancer, which is highly attributed to cigarette smoking.

Can Vaping Trigger Cancer?

Cancer occurs when cells mutate and develop abnormal growth. It can occur anywhere although there are organs that are at a higher risk. This mutation is typically caused by chemicals and toxins that people consume.

Studies have put vaping on the radar as one of the causes of cancer in the world because of the presence of nicotine and other toxins in the e-juice. Although the studies are shallow, users have every reason to be scared.

Common Cancers Associated with Vaping

The health sector around the world has come out clear to let people know the most common types of cancers that are linked to the use of an e cigarette. Nicotine is mainly to blame for this, although other chemical substances contain carcinogenic compounds.

· Lung cancer – Just like in the case of smoking, lung cancer is the most probable in vapers. Vaping involves inhaling vapor, which directly comes into contact with the lungs. Chemicals are deposited here and they pose a big health risk. Studies show that vapers are at a higher risk of contracting cancer than people who do not vape.

· Mouth and throat cancer – Again, the vapor comes into contact with the vapor where some toxins and chemicals are deposited. This has a risk of triggering cancerous cells to grow. However, this is not very common, just like it is not in the case of cigarette use.

· Bladder cancer – Previous research has found carcinogenic traces in the urine of regular vapers. As the kidneys clean the blood, these toxins take a toll on the bladder and might be a possible cause of problems. The more one vapes nicotine-based e-cigarettes, the higher the chances of getting affected.

Precautions to Take When Vaping

One can take a few precautions to minimize the risk of getting cancer through vaping. The main one is to use low-nicotine e-juices from legit sellers. The good thing is that it is possible to have zero nicotine vape juices.

The other precaution is to reduce the frequency of vaping. If you are not yet an addict, it is even easier to regulate the number of times you vape in a day. The less you vape, the lower the risk of getting cancer.

Conclusion

Factoring the above solutions is not the ultimate solution to keeping cancer at bay – quitting is. However, vaping is an addictive habit that you can be swayed easily to indulge in. If you have to do it, be responsible enough and be ready to embrace the consequences.

Promoting Mindfulness By Using CBD In The Hoilday Season

March 30, 2020 by Charles Leave a Comment

While everyone looks forward to the holiday season, there is no denying that it can be overwhelming and hectic. It is often full of anxiety and stress as a result. Hence, the importance of taking some time to strategize how to be mindful and relax during the holiday season cannot be understated.

While many people don’t have any strategy at all to help them relax during the holiday season, CBD has been seen as a product that has helped others stay mindful, sharp, and relaxed. In addition, many people have attributed focus, alertness, comfort, and calmness as some of the many benefits of CBD.

In this post, we will take a quick look at how CBD can aid mindfulness in the holiday season. However, in other to understand this fully, let us quickly define the term “mindfulness”.

What is “Mindfulness”?

Mindfulness can be defined as the ability of a person to be fully alert and present. They are totally in control of what they are doing and where they are. By extension, it can be defined as the ability to stay sound, not be overwhelmed, or overly reactive. A mindful person is in control of everything that happens around them. They have the ability not to lose their cool despite the overwhelming tasks in front of them.

How CBD promotes Mindfulness in Holiday Season

Here are a few ways CBD helps you stay in control during the holiday season:

  • ENHANCING CLARITY AND CALMNESS: You cannot remove calmness from mindfulness. Everyone can be a victim of anxiety and restlessness at any time. The bad part is that these negative feelings can also affect our moods, productivity and relationships etc. When we are not calm, we sometimes lash out at others and this is often out of character. This is one way CBD tinctures can be helpful. It helps enhance a sound and calm mental state. A regular intake of CBD tinctures helps enhance a healthy balance internally and maintain homeostasis. • AIDING PAIN RELIEF: Nothing can be as distracting and discomforting as pain and aches. There are often many activities throughout our daily routines during the holidays. Feeling discomfort in your body will only make it worse. You may be cleaning your house while taking care of the kids at the same time. This can be so overwhelming. The mental and physical pain can only wear out the mind more. While a lot of people love using exercises as a means of promoting mindfulness, it is does nothing to take away the pain and aches that we feel after over-stretching ourselves. Hemp Balm, on the other hand, can help get rid of the pain, and thus getting rid of the discomfort that may overwhelm your mind.
  • ENHANCING ENERGY AND FOCUS: It is often challenging to be mindful when we are lacking motivation or energy. The good news though is that ingesting a small amount of CBD can help energize your body without the jitters that come from caffeinated coffee.

In conclusion, CBD is the perfect way to keep your sanity in the midst of overwhelming tasks you have to get done during the holidays. It is a proven product that enhances mindfulness.

Leading Health Benefits of Tomatoes

October 30, 2019 by Charles Leave a Comment

You can eat tomatoes fresh or add them as ingredients to different recipes. There are also semi-dried tomatoes that you can use for various foods, including pizzas and sandwiches. They are not only tasty, but they are also packed with vitamins and nutrients that are good for health. Here are some of the health benefits that you can reap from eating tomatoes.

Help prevent cancer

Cancer is one of the leading causes of death around the world. Tomatoes contain a high level of lycopene, which is an antioxidant that can help prevent various types of cancers. Some of them are stomach, colorectal and prostate cancer. When you cook tomatoes, they produce more lycopene, making them perfect for preparing healthy meals, including a filling tomato soup.

They are fantastic for skincare

Lycopene is not just for fighting cancer, but it can also make the skin glow since it eliminates toxins. It is the reason why tomatoes are also used for various skincare products that are often expensive. You can save money on these high-priced products by using fresh tomatoes for your skincare. Peel some tomatoes and put their skin on your face ensuring that the inside part touches your skin. Let them sit for about 10 minutes, remove them, then rinse your face with water. Your face will look fresh and clean, with a natural red glow.

Prevent heart problems

Stroke is one of the top causes of disability and death in the UK. Every year, about 32,000 people die because of it. Older people are more at risk of stroke, although a significant percentage of middle-aged adults also suffer from their first stroke. Tomatoes are rich in potassium and vitamin B, which help lower blood pressure and cholesterol level. By eating tomatoes, you can prevent stroke and other problems related to the heart.

Help manage diabetes

Diabetes is a disease in which the body fails to process blood sugar. Proper management is vital because sugar levels in the blood might shoot up, and it may lead to severe complications like heart problems, stroke, and even death. Those with type 2 diabetes may benefit from eating tomatoes. According to a study made on type 2 diabetes patients that were subjected to eating cooked tomatoes for a month, it decreased the instance of free radicals attacking fats, which can increase the risk of heart concerns.

Enhance eyesight

Having clear eyesight is vital to ensure that you can conveniently perform the things that you need to do, whether it be at home, work, or school. Lycopene has several health benefits, and that includes the improvement of vision. Aside from this substance, tomatoes are also rich in other nutrients that are helpful for maintaining clear eyesight like beta-carotene and lutein. The said nutrients can also prevent various eye problems like macular degeneration and cataracts.

Improve digestion

Tomatoes are also rich in fibre and fluid, which are perfect remedies for constipation. Be careful if you are prone to indigestion and acid reflux because eating cooked tomatoes may trigger these.

With all the health benefits that you can get from tomatoes, it’s time that you add them to your daily diet.

How To Stay Healthy: A Simple Guide

September 23, 2019 by Charles Leave a Comment

As you only have one body, it’s crucial to take special care of your body. To discover a few invaluable tips on how to stay fit, healthy and active simply continue reading.

How to stay healthy:

Measure your ingredients when you cook for yourself:

In order to avoid preparing larger portions of food than you should be consuming, it’s a great idea to get into the habit of measuring your ingredients when you prepare your meals. As an example, you can’t go wrong investing in an electronic scale in order to weigh your ingredients.

Pay attention to the serving sizes on the back of food products:

A great way to ensure that your portion sizes are healthy is to pay close attention to the recommended serving sizes which are listed on the back of the vast majority of food packages. As you may be surprised to find that you may be eating bigger portion sizes, then you should be consuming. Especially if you’re looking to lose weight or to maintain a healthy weight.

Ensure that fruits and vegetables are a part of all of your meals:

Ideally each of your meals should feature fruits or vegetables. As an example, you may want to get your day off to the right start by consuming oats, served with Greek yoghurt and fresh blueberries and bananas. While salads and steamed vegetables pair nicely with meat or tofu for your lunches and dinners.

Even if you indulge in your favorite foods such as burgers and pizzas, it’s a smart idea to experiment with new vegetables, which you can add to your home made burgers and pizzas. As examples, you may enjoy adding baby corn, spinach, eggplant, zucchini and kale to your home made pizzas.

Download a handy app which will remind you to drink water:

To avoid becoming dehydrated consider downloading a handy app which will give you regular alerts, when it’s time to consume a glass of water. To ensure that you drink at least 6-8 glasses of water per day. As your body requires water in order to operate efficiently and to flush toxins out of your body.

Purchase an affordable, inexpensive jumprope:

If you lead a busy, hectic lifestyle and find yourself running short on time to go to the gym, make sure to invest in a cheap jump rope. As research has shown that 10 minutes of jumping rope at a moderate pace can burn the same amount of calories as a 30 minute jog. As a bonus, as jump ropes are portable, you’ll be able to take your jump rope with you, when you travel. To ensure that you stay in shape, even when you’re on vacation and eating out on a daily basis.

Measure yourself once a week:

As muscle weighs more than fat, if you’re looking to keep track of your health and fitness you’re far better off measuring your arms, legs, waist and hips each week, than stepping on a scale. To see whether you’re becoming leaner or whether you’re losing your definition and need to work on your fitness.

So if you’d love to take better care of your body, it’s a great idea to start off by implementing all of the handy diet and exercise tips which are listed above!
